RSG Security is a Signal Hill, California manufacturer of fire alarm pull stations, door holders and custom life-safety products. Our roots in fire safety go back to 1957.

State business records list Fire Lock Corporation as incorporated in California on December 27, 1957.
1966
Sam Finkle leads Fire Lock
The Long Beach city directory lists Sam Finkle as president of Fire Lock Corporation.
1974
Named among early home fire alarm makers
Home smoke and fire detectors were just reaching the mass market. A syndicated UPI consumer column on household fire-warning equipment, printed as far away as Pampa, Texas, named Fire Lock Corp. of Long Beach among the manufacturers whose systems NFPA said were listed by UL or FM.

1982
Aames Security is incorporated
The corporation known today as RSG/AAMES Security Inc. is incorporated in California on December 7, 1982.
From its plant at 3300 E. 59th Street, Aames built fire alarm control panels and voice evacuation equipment, including the AS-70-LS Audio Life Safety System.

Louie Finkle takes over
Louie Finkle takes over the business, bringing an inventor's perspective to its next chapter.
That October's price list ran from control panels, pull stations and door holders to smoke detectors, annunciators and voice evacuation panels, all under a “Made in U.S.A.” banner.

A patented electric skateboard
Louie receives U.S. Patent 5,893,425 for his remote-controlled electric skateboard.

2008
A pull station that deters false alarms
U.S. Patent 7,408,477, filed in 2005 and assigned to RSG/AAMES Security, covers an alarm pull station with an audible deterrent to false alarms. Inventors: Louis J. Finkle and Andrea Furia.
2012
A larger home in Signal Hill
By the end of 2012, RSG has moved to a new and much larger location at 2700 Junipero Avenue in Signal Hill, set up with a full die-cast operation and every step of production under one roof.

Leadership
An Inventor at the Helm
Louie Finkle took over the business in 1991 and still runs it today. He is a pioneer of the modern electric skateboard: his remote-controlled design, filed in 1996, received U.S. Patent 5,893,425 in 1999.
That same inventor's approach shapes our life-safety products, including an alarm pull station with an audible deterrent to false alarms, patented in 2008 with co-inventor Andrea Furia.
Named as an inventor on more than 60 patents, Louie brings a broad background in invention and product development to RSG.
